Homeless Not Helpless
On behalf of the Maddiwar’s family donation to the Floyd County Homeless Shelter we were able to purchase the building that houses the homeless shelter clients in Martin, Kentucky. Therefore, we have unanimously voted to change its name from East KY House of Hope to Maddiwar House of Hope in honor of their generosity. We are extremely excited to announce that Kentucky Opry has invited the winners (Dr. John Cecil and Tiffany Campbell) of our Dancing for Shelter to perform at their show on August 20th. If you keep up with the TV program, it is always exciting because the winner of the program appears the next morning in New York at 8 a.m. on Good Morning America. Let’s all mark our calendars to attend the Kentucky Opry Show on August 20, 2022 at 7pm.
A visionary effort to address the homeless population of Floyd County resulted in the need to provide housing for our under served population. Consequently, our homeless shelter is one step closer to a reality, thanks to the many individuals who have been instrumental in the development of the Floyd County Homeless Shelter, Inc.
Homelessness is on the rise in our community. It is up to us not to stand by while others suffer. The Floyd Co. Homeless Shelter in partnership with Kentucky River Community Care, will provide a safe haven for homeless individuals while simultaneously providing an opportunity for them to rebuild their lives. The ultimate goal is for the homeless to be able to return to society prepared to maintain a more sustainable lifestyle. Not only will their lives be empowered, but our community will be enriched as well.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of those in our community. Your contribution today helps us make a difference.
